“The Jewels of Greece and Rome - M'adora l'idol mio”
Concert by Yuriko Koyanagi (coloratura soprano) with piano accompaniment
Arias by Händel and Alessandro Scarlatti and other piano works
Let us start our season 2026/27 with the program consisting of the Baroque Italian masterpiece yet to be known but to be known by Yuriko's supreme presence.
She spent five weeks in Greece (summer 2025) working with her voice teacher based near Rome to develop these repertoires, immersing herself in Greek myth and drama as preparation for Handel's Teseo and Scipione— the latter exploring the love story of the Roman commander Scipio and a Spanish heroine.
